Future NHL broadcasting Superstar Wyatt Babb jumped out of bed in a mad scramble late Tuesday night upon discovering he missed the first live NHL action in months. The chiseled starlet has been a known serial over-napper and has missed out on multiple occasions because of it.
"I need to consult some sort of professional to figure out why I nap at the most inopportune times honestly," said Babb. "Either that or attach a shock collar that goes off every 30 minutes to my neck to keep me awake."
The 24 year old blogger has been senselessly wandering through life since the NHL ceased operations a few months ago.
“It’s been so long without hockey it just started to feel normal,” said Babb. “I’ve saved so much money from not breaking all of my personal belongings when the Avalanche lose.”
The NHL's return to play plan is now in full effect as teams are just around the corner from beginning their 2020 playoff experience, participating in exhibition matches to help get in the groove before the real race begins. The actions picks right back up tomorrow with a full slate of games going throughout the day.
Tuesday's games kicked off with a rivalry match up between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Scott Laughton would receive a beautiful stretch pass from Travis Konecny in overtime and bury it on Tristan Jarry with a beautiful shot over the shoulder. A perfect ending to the first game back.
Just like Christmas morning, after taking in the joy of our first present came the sweet realization that we still had more on the way.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens would move the might along with a classic Canadian scuffle that saw the Leafs offense come alive and take care of the Canadiens.
To perfectly top off the night, another installment of the Battle of Alberta between the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames. Connor McDavid dominated the ice with two beautiful goals including one no-looker late in the third to put the nail in the coffin for the Oilers.
Luckily for Sleeping Blogger, he woke up just in time to catch the final game of the night.
“I jumped out of bed and stumbled over a chair and almost broke my leg trying to get the TV on,” said Babb. “I turned it on just in time and for the first time in a long tone, everything felt okay again.”
